The Officer's Wife

Joanna was living a lonely life. Her husband, a captain in the 4th Battalion the Rifles was on tour in Helmand Province. They lived near Tidworth where the battalion was based. All she had to look forward to was 'Bluey's' emails).

She had a job locally during school hours, so she was always available to her 2 sons. She was a stylish lady but rather liked the styles of the 1950s. Having seen an advert in the paper she sent for a catalogue. To her delight she saw a mackintosh cape in rifle green. She ordered it and was delighted when it arrived. Although not raining she couldn't wait to put it on and wore it to meet the boys from school. It was a crisp autumn day and she wore it over a tweed suit. The boys asked her if she was Batwoman, when her arms emerged to hug them. Many of the other mothers were curious and she passed on details.

At last Jake's tour was over and the homecoming was awaited. It was a pouring wet day when the coaches rolled into the camp. The boys were at school and Joanna was well protected from the elements by her cape. At last Jake emerged and he and Joanna were soon locked in an embrace. Jake told her how exciting she looked under the hood and how super she looked in a cape. Soon he was in the car being chauffeured home. More kisses followed and then it was time to meet the boys.

Jake was still in his desert fatigues when they went to the school. He was delighted that his beret was the same shade of green as her cape. The boys were over the moon to see Dad and returned home to a celebration meal. Later, after the boys were in bed, the babysitter arrived and they walked to the local. It was no longer raining but Joanna wore her cape just the same with the hood down.

Soon they were enjoying a well earned drink and Joanna had undone her cape to reveal a stunning dress. All too soon the evening came to an end and Joanna was doing up the buttons after which her arms slid away.

Shortly after they were home, relieving the babysitter and putting on the kettle. Soon Jake's arms were round her and hers emerged the clasp him. Jake's pent up emotions were released as he kissed Joanna, loving the noise her cape made as he held her ever tighter. At last, he undid the buttons much to her delight and soon her cape was discarded and they were on the sofa....Later they went to bed...

Next day was a Saturday and they decided to go to Salisbury for the day. Joanna wore her cape over her tweed suit as she said it was windproof. She looked swell in her new boots and a red beret. They had a splendid day, with lunch out and an amusing film. Jake admitted he loved seeing Joanna in her cape as she looked so romantic.
