Why I like capes...
Thinking seriously about the matter, I think the reason is that they are different. Seeing a pretty girl wearing a cape gets the imagination going. What sort of figure has she? When her arms appear through the arm slits, what is she wearing? When she has the hood up and smiles in your direction, what effect has it on you? Then there is the teaser, who sports her cape on sunny days and when teased about it says it's because 'she wants it on!' She even goes farther if you go for a drink by keeping her cape 'done up' even when the bar is really warm, tantalising you by playing with the buttons. The only concession she makes is lowering the hood. If you touch her hand it disappears. On leaving, up goes the hood and her arms disappear and it's not until you reach home that she relents. You can then 'go to town', kiss her passionately, lower the hood and finally 'open her up' so your final treat is a sight of her gorgeous dress and superb figure and the rest follows. . .
