In July the Sun is Hot. Is it shining?

It was typical English weather, rain and more rain. It meant that Marie's sundress was hidden under her purple raincape most of the time. She didn't mind too much as she loved wearing her cape (and having Bill undo it!) and she felt it looked very distinctive with its buttons grouped in threes (just like the Scots Guards). She rather liked feeling the rain hitting her and cascading downwards.

On an overcast day in mid-July she and Bill set off for a trip to Birmingham. Bill had his big umbrella and Marie had put on her cape over a stunning dress, doing up the buttons ('looks smarter and I want my arms out of sight!') and set off for Euston. Soon they were on their way in style - First Class, sipping a coffee. As the compartment was so warm, Marie undid her cape feeling happily relaxed. In just over an hour they were at New Street and their fun began.

As they emerged they could see it was raining so Bill's umbrella was unfurled and Marie had pulled up her hood. They visited the Bullring and then had a look at the canal complex, ending up in a nice waterside public house for lunch. There were a few looks of admiration when they saw Marie's stunning dress. They enjoyed their steak and ale. In the afternoon, they decided on a boat trip to see more of the city. Although the rain had stopped, Marie kept on her cape but left it open as the sun had made an appearance. It was all good fun.

They travelled back First Class, enjoying dinner in the restaurant car, including a good bottle of wine. It was chilly when they reached Euston so Marie soon had her cape on and buttoned for the last stage. Within 30 minutes they were home and soon interlocked, Marie 'opened up' and her cape discarded. The rest of the night was theirs!
