Hurrah for Howrah

Jenny lived with her partner on the edge of Dartmoor. She lived in one of the wettest parts of the UK where the rain squalls that swept in were like monsoons. Her rainwear wasn't up to it and when she saw the Howrah cape advertised on her computer, she felt it was the solution.

She ordered it in navy and soon it arrived. It was raining heavily that day so it wasn't long before she was buttoned and hooded. Donning her wellingtons she stepped outside and was soon walking along with the rain hammering down. It was a lovely sensation and when she reached home and undid her cape she was bone dry. She was delighted.

When Julian returned from work, they decided to stroll after dinner to the local.

She said she had a surprise up her sleeve! She told him not to look then got his attention as in the meantime she'd put on her cape and done up the buttons. He told her she looked lovely and off they went.

It was raining somewhat so up went her hood. They reached the Trout Inn and settled in the lounge. Jenny was glad to shed her cape and let it drip dry, whilst they enjoyed gin and tonic and beer respectively. They chatted to numerous people and the evening sped by. Soon it was time to walk back, Julian dropping her cape onto her shoulders and Jenny doing up the buttons. Rain had stopped so her hood stayed down and a hand emerged to fasten onto his.

Once in the house Julian held her close, liking the feel of the rubber. Soon they were locked in embrace and Julian was undoing the buttons one by one, to her delight... after which the sofa beckoned....

The next day was Saturday and there was a local point-to-point. It was a typical May day with a cold wind blowing and rain not far away. Jenny wore a tweed suit and topped it with her cape. They had a grand day and enjoyed meeting friends. Many comments were made about Jenny's cape and details were passed on to them. She said she thought capes would make a comeback - after all 'What goes around, comes around!'
