Club Foyer>Rainwear Vignettes>John's Armless Fun
Back in the mid 1960s, when I moved to Bristol, I was driving home from work one evening when I saw a very pretty girl sitting on some steps. I parked the car and went up to her.
It was a sunny summer evening and she was tastefully dressed but round her neck was fastened a navy blue mackintosh cape in such a way that she wasn't wearing it. I had a few words and asked her what she was doing. She said she had her cape with her as it had looked rainy in the morning. She was killing time before going home.
I asked her if she fancied a drink and she assented. The one condition was that she wore her cape properly. She gave herself a shake and it dropped over her shoulders whereupon she fastened the buttons and flashed me a smile as her arms slid out of sight. We went to 'The Drawbridge' and spent a happy couple of hours there and she shed her cape.
When time was called I helped her on with it and despite it being a warm evening she did up the buttons. We walked to the car and I drove her home. We ended with a snogging session during which her cape was undone and on saying goodnight we looked forward to the next time.
