Beth
Beth grew up in the 1950s and by the end of the decade was a trendy dresser. She had a splendid figure but unlike her friends who went for tightly belted rubber mackintoshes, she plumped for an air force blue cape.
She told her friends it was to arouse curiosity in the boys, and to show off her wrist bangles when her arms were exposed.
She got a real buzz when she went along the sea front with her friends on a breezy day. When her friends came for her, if they were wearing their macs, she would put on her cape and away they went. She loved the enclosed feeling but sometimes left the top button undone.
One Saturday evening, the three of them decided to go dancing. Beth, who was wearing her cape as it was drizzling, looked very romantic with the hood up as they entered the Regal Ballroom and removed their outer garments. Beth's lovely figure and dazzling outshone her two friends and caught the eye of Bob, whose spell she fell under for the evening.
He was an accountant working in the town and involved with various organisations. She herself was a receptionist with a law firm. He lived in the town a mile or so from her. They got on capitally sitting out as much as dancing. At last, it ended and coats etc were recovered. Beth found her cape and Bob dropped it on her shoulders. She flashed him a smile as she threaded her arms through the slits and fastened the buttons. Bob told her she looked entrancing.
They walked home in the moonlight Beth with her hood down an it was dry and her arms inside, until they reached Beth's flat. She put on the kettle for coffee and then fell into each other's arms. Bob said he loved the smooth feel of Beth's cape but it didn't stop him undoing it button by button, a sensation Beth found adorable. Soon they had finished their coffee and Beth, her cape discarded, was with Bob on the sofa into the early hours....
The upshot was that Bob and Beth became an item and life changed. Bob loved meeting Beth after work and the sight of her in her cape coming towards him was a delight. She loved to tease him by wearing it on fine days.
