The whole equestrian scene

You asked me for a riding mac story. Which one do you want -there are so many? How about one that is a little different from most. Also very short.

When I came to work up here I was the only person with a proper traditional riding mac. The son of the proprietor was very friendly to me and we often went to the pub together. I quickly noticed that if it was wet he would almost insist that I wore my riding mac - or at least one of the two of them that I had.

One night he suddenly had one as well - a brand new very white one with a lovely yellow lining and a red buggy across the shoulders. When I expressed my surprise he said he had had one when he was a child and had always wanted another. He admitted to being massively turned on by the whole equestrian scene all of which he regarded as erotic. I asked him why and he went through it all:- "Rubber reins, rubber riding boots and of course rubber riding macs, leather boots, saddle bridle, etc., skin tight breeches over fabulous female buttocks, bondage represented by the bit and girth, and of course an endless variety of riding whips". What more could one want?

I was taken aback, however, when he said that for him tight stretch jodhpurs and long boots came near the top of his list as did the whips. Absolutely top were proper full length riding mackintoshes which often left him quite speechless but he went on to say that they HAD to be tightly belted and with the collars turned up to really get him going. He liked them best in proper horsey surroundings rather than posed as we were doing that evening and preferred them like mine was - not totally new!

His view was that the late '70's were really the best time for riding clothes. By then stretch jodhpurs were all the rage, rubber boots had come in but most importantly the rubber riding mackintosh was still the only really waterproof garment to wear in the country whether riding or not. How true that is when one thinks about it.

We were entranced by the fact that e both had such similar feelings and had a lot of fun together - but I won't go into that.

Let me know if you want any more stories - as you know I been "into" riding macs since I was a child so I can think of amusing anecdotes from Pony Club camp days onwards.
