I bought a pile of 'ponchos' from an outfit in North America who confirmed that it was rubberised with genuine natural rubber. I'm sure it isn't, and I've not found anyone to disagree! I think it probably is genuine nylon.

(The consignment I got was actually mixed: some like this and some I believe featuring rubber from the actual tree.)

Unfortunately, you can't return things over 2 kg across the Atlantic without throwing good money after bad, so it languishes.

Light/mediumweight single-texture cotton/cotton mix mackintosh in light green.

In the sale because measurements are not quite to spec.

  • Robust black cloth backing
  • Ouside coating of black rubber
  • Seams taped
  • Detachable hood
  • Internal pockets, access through welt flaps with button closure.
  • Protected vent below shoulder level at rear

NB The rubber surface of this cape Howrah feels almost 'sticky' to the touch. (It's not really sticky, it just feels as if it were.) This feature is admired by some but not by all...

A sale opportunity because this one doesn't quite fit the spec.

Would suit someone with a chest measurement of 48"/50"
