This is a page about the best parkas and where to get them |

Parkas really ought to have a proper tail. Ideally it should be light and with plenty of slinky movement in it. Heavyweight cardboardy tails much to be avoided. This Parka by Heine has a nice tail: Cluttered or uncluttered? Neat clean profile with playful cord cuff closures and a great belt to stop the sprawl in this French parka from Mexx. Inspired clutter from Freemans in the Heine Crushed Effect Parka: Parkas can be terribly stodgy, wadded out, tableclothy. Look for one that has a fine weave, with some proofing - chemical will do. Nice fur on the hood of this different Together Parka from Freemans - and a lovely ice-maiden blue! Up to size UK 22.
Freemans has a wide range of parkas, most of them looking really good.

The Parka Pages, a fantastic obssessional website has them all!! You must go and look. If you want a Parka to offer serious protection, while you are actually out in the rain, see what a country wear specialist has for you - Countrywide for example.

Best Value I can find- traditional parka colour and fabric , nice tail, up to size UK 22, massive £41.59 saving, so priced at £17.50: Bonprix highlights value as usual:
What is a Parka? Don't go there. They started with fish very much in minds - or fish oil at any rate - and with serious thoughts about keeping off the rain. But fortunately they have become domesticated and like dogs come in all sorts and sizes. What's the difference between a parka and an anorak? Not so much as a single kilobyte apparently. They are alleged by Wikipedia to be these two words for the same thing! I know this is nonsense. The parka has the blood of the Mod in its veins. And whoever met an anorak with a fishtail?
Nylon with metal from MEXX.
