Dear Lorraine

Seen in Watchet

Just to say how I love the Club Foyer and Chillout room.

In the Chillout room I liked St M looking so seductive in her cape, her arms peeping out of the slits. Pity not another one of her with her arms inside. She must love her cape to wear it on a sunny day. Hannah is also lovely in her long hooded cape.

In the Club Foyer I liked Capes Parisiennes best, particularly the fawn colored one with its lovely hood, and no arms. I also found nostalgic the picture of that pretty girl in the 1949 cape although it was undone. It brought back memories as she was wearing a topcoat under it.

I think lots of women and girls chose capes as they would fit easily over outer clothes with slits more practical than sleeves with total protection when hooded and no arms. I wish I could get my wife a fawn colored cape as per Parisienne. [Well, just aask! - ed.] She would look fabulous.

Staying overnight in Watchet in 1951, I remember taking a walk in the evening. A house door opened and an attractive dark haired girl came down the street in a fawn raincape. As soon as she had closed the door her arm slid out of sight.
