Chickening out

Hiya Lorraine,

I admire people who can walk into shops selling rainwear & can buy for example a PVC mac or a pair of wellies without blushing or looking embarrassed about it.

One night I awoke with my heart pounding and an insatiable feeling running through my body because the day before I'd seen a pair of shiny blue wellies in a shoe shop that I thought I would look good in and I'd like to buy. I had to make up a lie of what to tell the shop attendant at my local shoe shop. I finally decided that I would tell the shop assistant that I'd like a pair of size 9 wellies for my girlfriend who was taking part in a horse riding competition and would like a pair of shiny blue wellies to keep her feet dry in-between competitions.

I then had doubts because no woman I know has a shoe size of size 9 more to the fact no woman I have met have size 9 shoes so again that would raise suspicion that the pair of wellies were for me. I would also need to try them on to check that they fit my feet but this would still raise suspicions & they would probably ask me to do 'the walk' to see if they fitted me well. Again I think they'd laugh if I said I wanted to buy a pair of wellies for my girlfriend because the wellies were for children so that would raise suspicions too.

In the end I 'chickened out' & decided not to go just to save me the embarrassment & blushes!

Please add this to your letters page.

All the best,

ShinyPvcMac
