At TK Maxx in Manchester they had lovely Alpha Industries Retro military gaberdine parkas in the sale. I bought a vast green belted hooded American army parka, Alpha Kydd, that reaches below my knees and buries me in itself.
I also bought a Kadet snorkel parka made by Alpha, based on an NB3, but very long, reaching below my knees. The hood totally conceals my face and has a long snorkel. I am beside myself - dont know which to wear.
Ended up wearing both with the snorkel hooded Kadet under the bigger Retro parka. Very heavy,very warm very exciting. I can hardly see where I'm going.
For two days I have worn both coats together at home, on the train to London. In the shops, pub and to a meeting in uni. I have them on now, typing my essay for uni.
They are on the Alpha web site for $220 and $140 cost me £100 together in Manchester. Best buy for a long time. I have not taken the hoods down or unfastened the coats for over fifty hours. I am hibernating until the end of term!
