These pages are from a 52 page Booklet "RUBBER AND THE HOME" which was published in 1928 by THE RUBBER GROWERS' ASSOCIATION. INC. in London. RUBBER and the HOME

INTRODUCTORY
The march of progress has brought in its train fresh problems in the solution of which rubber can, and is, playing a vital part. It possesses, as does no other single commodity, just those properties which are essential in a mechanical age such as ours with all its nerve-racking tendencies - it is silent and durable, it takes up the shocks and jars which have such a detrimental effect on our nervous systems, it cheapens production and with all can be made into a thing of beauty.
These properties are just as important in the home as in the workshop - in fact of all the great services which rubber renders to mankind none are more important or more appreciated than those which it performs in making the home brighter, quieter, easier and cheaper to run and exquisitely beautiful.
No apology is therefore needed for the publication of this little booklet dealing with the domestic, sports and general uses of a product which is capable of providing the necessities of a healthy, happy life in a thousand unsuspected ways.
It is impossible adequately to describe in the limits of a single booklet all the great possibilities of rubber in the home, and no attempt has been made to include all its domestic applications. Only the more important of these have been mentioned, par- ticular stress being laid on those of more recent development. A careful study of this booklet will be weIl worth while. It will not only enable you to appreciate some of the numerous forms and applications of rubber, but it will suggest to you numberless other uses for the product in the home.
Rubber is an Imperial product and its appeal should find a responding echo in your patriotism and business instinct.
