Source of many fine individually styled and tailored mackintoshes in the 1970s was a firm called Trudimac, and courtesy of Trudi's partner - and husband - specialist photographer Jo Warne we retain a great trove of their images as they were published in Rainwear Review.

Rainwear Review was Jo Warne's celebration of the black rubber mackintosh, with its severe glamour and its unrivalled power to enclose and impose. It ran to 11 editions, terminating with the untimely death of its founder, photographer and devoted editor in 1972.

Here we offer just some of the images which he gave us, in tribute to him, and to his partner, and to the models through whose skill the black rubber mackintosh presented itself to an utterly captivated audience.
