Wallis

Dear Lorraine

I am surprised no one has mentioned the Wallis range of macs from the mid-to-late 70's and early 80's.

They came in a wide range of colours and styles - trench mac (single- and double-breasted), a-line and wrap-over styles.

I clearly recall two in particular, one was a blue double-textured a-line mac with poppers up the front, and the other was also double-textured, black outside and cream inside, a wrap-over style with a tie belt. (It was also available in fawn outside and black inside.)

Both worn by a girlfiend of mine and both smelt delightfully rubbery.

Thanks for this. I'm afraid what you say is true - Wallis hasn't had a mention here before, and from what you say that is a shameful omission! Your description makes one long for pics - I guess there must be some out there - ? Did Wallis do a catalogue I wonder?

I see they have quite a nice orange number on their site at the moment - announced as taffeta, exclusive - oh, and sold out!
