May I say that I love reading the letters here, so many memories of lovely mackintoshes from years ago.
As you probably know I have written a couple myself regarding my mac memories - I am a lover of the old rubber-lined cotton mackintoshes and shiny cotton-backed PVC macs from the early 70s.
Reading through the letters about mackintoshes I wonder if anyone still has their old macs. Did any ladies keep their old gabardine school macs? I have been searching for an old school mackintosh but sadly can't find one even on ebay. It would seem that they have all but vanished these days sadly.
I would love to have an old blue or green school mackintosh with a hood, something that I have loved since my school days when all the girls wore them. All the types of mac that I love are now so very hard to get hold of, rubber-lined, and cotton-backed PVC macs and the old school mackintoshes.
May I make a plea to anyone who might still have an old mac, if you have any that you would be willing to sell please get in touch with me. Or if anyone would like to chat about old mackintoshes, please feel free to print my email address and maybe get in touch.

Thanks for writing again. Sorry you had no luck last time ...
My suggestions last time still apply though. But they might not much longer! Materials getting harder to get hold of by the day, workshops under pretty fierce pressure ...
But memory - and imagination - are lovely things.
If encouraged, they can actually be the best, imho.
