Hi Lorraine,
I just love your columns and wonderful stories...or reminders of a wonderful age in my life when the rustling noises of satin mackintoshes or the slithering sound of SBR conjured up such wild thoughts in one's imagination...

Many thanks for your articles from one who enjoyed that time in my life and would so dearly love to relive it again. I return to the UK in August after a 25 year absence ..I do hope I at least I am fortunate enough to see or hear one again but that is probably expecting to much. Alas a forgotten era.

Thanks so much for your kind words - quite a few people look at the site and so I suppose get something from it but it's very nice to have someone saying so!

SBR still slithers and rubberised satin still rustles - but not all over as once I'm told it did - just in one or two lovely lovely places.
