With all the rain recently I think the wearing of pvc and plastic raincoats should be made compulsory!
Not enough people seem to see how practical pvc and plastic is for wet weather.I love plastic for the feel of it, but it is useful in the rain too.
I have a long black hooded transparent plastic raincoat for mornings like this morning. The rain was teeming down and I had to collect the papers. I slipped into the mac and walked to the shop. The rain was glistening on my mac as I entered so I gave myself a vigorous shake to shake off the water. I got some odd looks from the other customers, but at least I was dry underneath the mac, not soaked like them. When I went to the counter to pay the girl on the till who had seen what I had done said that she thought I looked really good in my raincoat and wished she could "shake it" like me!
Do you think it should be made compulsory to wear plastic?

Well, MacBoy,many thanks for writing, but I'm afraid you haven't noticed: in the UK at any rate the Big Society is to be made up of Volunteers. Compulsion is just so over.
And anyway if everyone was made to wear plastic, oil would peak more quickly than ever.
If only nice rainwear grew on trees!
