Carol Kirkwood is a national weather presenter, mainly seen on the BBC Breakfast programme (6-9am. each morning). She has a bright and cheerful personality and is very popular with viewers. On a few occasions she has presented the main weather forecast after the News Bulletins at lunchtimes and evenings - but these are always from the studio.
We do, of course, have local weather presenters, in the South East - most notably Kaddy Lee-Preston. She also presents a local magazine programme called "Inside Out" for the South East Region, but I have never seen her wear a mac over the last six years. In the last year she has shared the weather forecasts with Nazaneen Ghaffar and Kaye Forster, but they are almost invariably studio bound. There was one occasion last autumn when Nazaneen was sent outside into the Calverley Grounds (a local park immediately behind the BBC studio in Tunbridge Wells) during a torrential downpour. She wore a riding mac and got totally drenched. Alas, I don't have a pic.
