Innuendo I

Judith put down the phone saying, "It should be here by tomorrow afternoon and I ordered the larger size as you liked it so much."

Jonathan wondered why she really wanted another one when they both like the one hanging in the hall, but it was the extra length which attracted them most. He showed his enthusiasm by asking if he could open it when it arrived.

"Of course darling I would love you to do that - and you can fit it for me."

Jonathan hoped she would keep it clean because he hated dirty marks. "Darling" Judith assured him "when you see me in it you won't notice any dirty marks, believe me."

They both began to feel excited about her new acquisition.

The following day Judith set off for the office suitably dressed for the stormy weather and it was quite late when she returned. As soon as she saw the discarded wrapping paper in the hall she guessed the parcel had arrived. She knew Jonathan would have put it in the bedroom and she ran up stairs tingling with excitement.

Jonathan heard her and called out from the bathroom "I will be with you in a minute. Dave came round this afternoon and he thinks you have very good taste".

When he went into the bedroom Judith, still wearing her raincoat and full of smiles, was carefully examining the new large mahogany framed mirror and murmuring to herself "Mirror, mirror on the wall, I'm the fairest of them all".
