Gribouille, French singer, born in Lyon in 1941, died 1968, real name Marie-France Gaité.

Her recording career ran from 1963 to 1968.

When I was in my teens I bought a magazine called Musique Magazine which had nice pictures of her in a half-length shiny "ciré noir".

I have found a web site with some information on her - I'm a little bit fascinated by her personality. She had a very difficult life, sent very young to a psychiatric hospital, with drugs and medicine habits that killed her at the age of 27.

This picture of her in a trench coat is on the sleeve of a vinyl reissue of 1980. (Unfortunately the magazine of the 60's is lost in the library here.)
