The new girl in the kitchen has got hold of one of those trendy yellow/navy rubberised jackets - and wears it with a pair of navy AllStars! Oh!
Today she came and sat at the same table as me in the Sociology section of the library, wearing a grey denim skirt and a short-sleeved maroon pullover over her shirt. Her jacket went whisperingly over the back of her chair. At one point she stretched her arms behind the chair and let her hands brush the supple fabric. What on earth was she thinking of?
She was with someone else - not from the kitchen - and I didn't like to talk in the quiet zone. I'll have to ask where she got it from tonight.
It wasn't long before they packed their bags and stood. Sally pulled her mac from the chair and paying the garment no deference, slid it slickly on. Her friend moved away. Sally's mac fell generously from the shoulders and shivered as she followed in her pristine sneakers down the aisle (white laces and rubber trim).
Skint I may be (partly cos I already bought sneakers!) but that little mac is an absolute MUST buy for me.
