Most lovely fabric

Hello Lorraine

DB from Portsmouth calling on the south coast of the UK.

I just LOVE the feel and rustle noise of taffeta. It has got top be the most lovely fabric and sound on this earth - for dresses, skirts, 50s paper taffeta Can-Can petticoats, Can-Can dresses, ladies' nylon taffeta overalls.

Remember the slight flair skirt that rustled as she walked, and of course ladies' raincoats and capes in nylon taffeta and plastic.

I also love the sight and sound of taffeta on the bolt in the shop, when one is pulled out it sort of 'scream-rustles' as it rubs the others - and the same when you pull off metres.

I'm sure the bolts of rubberised taffeta in your work-room make these glorious sounds when handled. I would LOVE to hear and see them!

Well I adore fashion and also design purely as a hobby, but I am hoping to crack the market. I just love beautiful things and of course the rustle noise. I do recall some lovely ladies' macs of the late 50s early 60s (my childhood was in the 50s), in the stores in a heavy nylon taffeta that really rustled and squealed at the slightest touch.

As far as the plastic ones go, the ones I like best are those that have a rib surface, so they feel and rustle like taffeta. I think people out there will know the ones I am on about. Does one get thrilled by all this, by the feel and the rustle of these fabrics? Yes most certainly, who doesn't! In the nicest sense of the word let`s face it, it is sheer glamour.

I also like the feel of nylon umbrella covers, but I NEVER open one up indoors - it's bad luck. I would LOVE to hear from lady mac wearers who also love the feel and rustle of nylon taffeta macs, love to rustle them and rustle umbrella covers, and I would LOVE to hear from Taffeta Lover too.

Best Wishes

DB
