Happy Ex-soap
Dear Lorraine,
I have a well known face, known to most teenagers from a very popular
UK teenage soap. But it finished and I went to uni. The face became
a liability rather than an asset with the tabloids after me.
Luckily I was put in touch with Women Ourselves. I have finished
my first term in uni without being pestered by the press or bores.
I live in my big black hoody !
I have a number of goth type thigh length hoodies I wear with black
jeans and black army boots. The hoody hoods are large and come well
down over the forehead leaving a three inch vertical gap to the
neck. Under the hood I wear a black beeny hat pulled down over my
ears and eyebrows and neck warmer pulled up to just below my eyes
and over my ears. All people can see of me is a tiny white line where
my eyes are, even this is deeply shaded by hood hanging forward over
my face and narrow vertical opening.
Its warm luxurious and secure to dress this way.
For outdoors and sometimes in I have massive Alpha industries retro
Korean parka. This is very heavy and comes below my knees, its hood
is enormous and forms a deep snorkel sixinches long.I have had this
died jet black too.
People in the streets and on the tube ignore you.A drunk shouted
go home to Arabia at me,but, that is the only reaction I got.
In pubs and in cafes I remain totally covered but lower the neck
warmer a little to expose mouth if eating or drinking.I have an
SAS balaclava to wear under the neck warmer and beeny hat for nights
out.
All this gear cost next to nothing in TK Max hoodies £20 jeans
£10 alpha industies coat £40.In Army Surplus beeny hats
£4 neck warmer £3,you need a few,balaclava £3.Boots
£20.Nothing to the cost of press intrusion.

Hello Loraine
I have come across your site a few times (and the messages posted
within) whilst searching for fetish info relating to nylon snorkel
parka coats and jackets.
I have now started my own Yahoo group for anyone else interested
in this enthusiasm and hope that you might pass on the link to my
site to others with a similar interest.

If you like parkas join the army!
A friend showed me your web site sone time ago. It's all a bit
kinky but I decided to write to you through a friend in university.
I am twenty-one at the end of a Army funded degree. I will return
to the Army full time soon. I love the army life and am fitter and
better than ninty-nine percent of men in combat and am a good shot.
I am one of the first airborne women special services candidates.
I joined the Army Cadets when I was fifteen and never looked back.
When I first joined the cadets I was issued with camo pvc parka
and over trousers. I loved them and the smell they had. I used to
love to wrap myself up in the parka with its hood. I used to wear
them all the time.
I have a collection of miitary ponchos parkas and combat gear from
most NATO countries and Isreal. Where I have a choice I am to be
found wearing camo gear including gortex parkas with hood up and
face mask. I have worn such gear for weeks by going on one exercise
on top of the next in the Welsh mountains.
If you like parkas join the army!

We got the Freshers covered ...
We had a successful freshers week meeting with loads of A
very tall thin striking black woman from New Jersey joined
and did a roaring trade with her big long black hoodies -
thigh length double-textured pull over the head hoodies with
a deep hood. They have a gorgeous internal face panel that
pulls up from the front inside of the hood and is held in
place by velcro. They have nose and eye holes and can be worn
to totally enclose the head or they can be worn as chin warmers
up to the nose. The hoodies have a slogan on them in white
letters. KEEP YOUR HOOD UP!
Another popular line were ex British Army gortex hooded parkas
and trousers. These have a nose high collar and a deep hood.
Being gortex thay are comfortable to wear all day with the
hood tied tight even indoors in heated rooms. They are in
woodland camo which is useful if you intend to do a bit of
poaching to eek out student finances...

Exciting coaty smell from Peacocks
Dear Lorraine,
Went into Peacocks yesterday and bought a man's snorkel parka XL
so it's large on me. Has a thick fury trim to the hood. Wore it
from the shop and have worn it with the hood up for the last thirty
hours!
It has thick padding, a deep snorkel hood that zips up past my
nose and makes a tunnel. It's jet black, very warm and lovely.
As soon as I put it on and put the hood up I got really excited.
The snorkel totally covers my face like the one in your Cover Up
section.
This parka has a coaty smell to it. I think this why it has had
such an effect on me when some other coats don't.
I love wearing hoods up but this one is the best. £18 at
Peacocks brilliant value and entertainment!
Love your site!
All girls should snorkel up!
(3) reasons for snorkelling up
Pouring with rain today (1). My old Canadian snorkel hood parka
keeps me dry. Rubberised cotton and reaching my calves. Hood snorkelled
up so I view the world down a six inch tunnel.
Wonderful!
Lovely smell of rubber fills my nose.
Yesterday it was very hot and sunny, so I wore my parka with the
hood up to keep the sun off (2)!
I wear it every day. I love it.
My boyfriend has a massive German army parka. I make him wear it
with the hood up all the time and his Liverpool scarf covering his
mouth and nose.
Dressed up like this we have fun anywhere we can (3). We are both
really excited by being dressed like this.

Annual Report
Have now warn a hood up every day this uni year including
now in the warm summer!!
I also have taken to wearing a German army extreme weather face
mask under my parka hood. Which has heavy button-over covers for
the mouth and nose.
A pair of Wellingtons have been paid for by students
that bet me I couldnt wear a hood up all year!
Now I wouldn't go out with out a hood up and usually wear one
at home even in bed. It makes me feel warm and sexy and totally
protected.
I now have a collection of long hooded coats and parkas, six
hoody tops, face masks, balaclavas, headovers (kneck warmers),
ski masks and hoods.
What a year!

I love to wear ...
Being a bit of a Goth I am into wearing jet black tops hoodies
long skirts and long coats. I have thick long black hair and wear
dead pan make up.
When we had a Goth party in Uni (Glamorgan) loads of Goths turned
up wearing white army face masks like the one in your hoodie picture. They
make you look like the scary painting "Scream".
I like to wear long black skirts, to the floor, black army boots,
black Tshirt, thick black hoodie with the hood up always! Over this
my heavy rubberised cotten black trenchcoat with its six inch high
collar strapped tight across my face. Only a tiny half-moon space
is left for me to see.

Regarding school macks today
When I and my sisters went to school we wore very long coats with
hoods and silk scarves wrapped round our faces so only our eyes
were showing. We also wore boots and gloves. Our parents insisted
on us being fully concealled from the age of twelve. We wore large
hooded woollen duffle coats all year round with deep cowl hoods
and face covers up to the nose. The test was that the inspector
would stand two meters in front of you level with your eyes, if
she could see them you were not properly dressed.
If parents want their daughters dressed this way they must just
insist on it, with the help of community leaders. No school will
object.
Now in university I no longer wear the heavy hooded duffle coat.
Indoors I wear a large hoody and baggy combat trousers, a neck warmer
that covers the nose and ears and a thin Josey band round my head
and over my eyes so I can see out and not be seen.
Outdoors I wear a blue calf length American Airforce snorkel hooded
parka that has a wired hood with a deep snorkel.
I am engaged to a man from the same ethnic group as me. Since our
engagement he has worn a Ben Sherman fish tail snorkel hood parka.
When ever I leave him for college we have a routine where I put
his hood up and zip up his coat and tie the strings of his hood
very tight and tie the strings round his knees. I put on special
knots so I know if he undoes his coat. He never does!
Keep up the good work on your wonderful site.

Goggle hoods...
The tops in hoodwear
by Kate
Have been to an expensive West End shop to try on some amazing
hooded jackets. Alas really made for men but I am very tempted to
buy one. Made by the C P Clothing Company these are heavy zip-up
jackets with what they call a goggle hood. The jacket has a hood
that pulls up over the head like a normal hood but has a zip that
comes down from the forehead to the collar totally enclosing the
head. In the hood are two glass goggles so you can see out. Wearing
this I found to be very enjoyable - BUT they cost $550.
Cheaper and very warm and enclosing were their rib knitted sweaters
with goggle hoods. Might get one for $290. They can be seen on the
C P Clothing Company web site and most likely will be on e-bay.
These must be the hoodies' ultimate wear.

Unrecognisable
Hi there, we all really love your web site and think it is the
best thing of all time ever. Let me tell you all about us we’re
a gang of girls and we’re all at secondary school there’s
me Tammy and my girls Bethany, Becky, Chelsea and we all have one
thing in common we all have a parka fetish and we all love being
un-recognisable. What we do each morning is we meet up really early
at the bus stop I have a Bench Coat and a Hooch N2B Parka. Bethany
has a white parka. Becky has a green bomber parka and Chelsea has
a H&M Black parka. First thing in the morning I go down stairs
all ready and dressed for school I get my Bench coat and take it
up to my room. Firstly I put my lovely black Neoprene Ski mask on
covering up all my face then I put my black high-necked zip up Bench
top on and zip that up to the face. Then I put my Bench coat on
one arm then the next then I do it up slowly and carefully I put
the hood up pull the Bench face flap as tight as it goes to. Then
I pull the drawstrings as tight as they go to then I go to the bus
stop. Where my girls are there all ready zipped up fully and tightly
and un-recognisable so all you see is their eyes our voices sound
really muffled but we can hear and understand each other perfectly.
We travel on the bus like that to and from school we go around school
at break and lunch like that and we walk home like that scaring
some of the younger girls.
We all really love your web-site we found it by accident but now
we are all hooked on it we love everything about it. Which is why
we need your help pretty please we have really loved reading all
the stories on it. And want to talk to Debbie author of in "At
Least One Convert". I want to find out about how her daughter
wears her Bench coat all the time. We also really want to talk to
Bristol Mum. I want to Email her I want to find out about her Bench
coat and ask her loads of things about it and I want to find out
all about who what where and when the hooded ones are pretty please
put me in contact with them please. I don’t mind if you give
my Email address to anyone - the more people I can get in contact
with the better.
We all really love zipping up fully and tightly and un-recognisable
having all that deep warm soft fur around our heads and faces. It
is so exciting, which is the reason why I really want to get in
contact with all Bench Coat and University Bench coat and parka/snorkel
parka-owning girls. To share stories/experiences with please.
Lots of love
Tammy XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Dear Tammy
Thank you for your contributions. I do urge you
to be careful who you give your e-mail address to though - all is
not always as it seems and there might well be people out there
you would not want to be in contact with at all!
That's why of course I can't pass anybody's e-mail
on - though there is another reason - often I don't have it myself.
People can contribute anonymously to these pages, and you have to
read them or not on that basis!

A site to try ....
Some of your readers might like a site I like "The
Parka Pages". They have lots of photos of parkas and a
design your own parka feature. It's great fun.

I love to wear ...
Hi there, I really love your web-site it is so cool I just love
reading all the things on it they really turn me on and make me
feel so hot. I know most people on your web-site love Macs and Rain
Macs but I’m part of the new generation that loves parkas/snorkel
parkas/ fur hooded winter coats.
Like the other girls of my age here I am at Uni and I have a BENCH
Parka and a Hooch Bomber Parka and a really lovely white Hooch Fur
hooded winter coat with the pom-poms on them that I pull as tight
as they go to.
I also have loads of Bench and Hooch big thick very high necked
zip up tops that I put on first and zip up fully to the top and
rather than folding it down I zip the high collar right up fully
over the nose eyes and mouth. Then I put my Bench parka on, do it
up fully and carefully, put the hood up, pull the Velcro flap as
tight as it goes across the face. Then pull the draw-strings as
tight as they go, so just a tiny pair of eyes can be seen peering
out. I spend all day from waking up to going to bed like that zipped
up fully.
That’s why I really want to talk to all the other Uni girls,
Bristol Mum, and those other two lovely girls that wrote Fish tail
disorder and the other one I can't remember its name who works in
a call centre that really loves snorkel parkas and wears it up fully
morning noon and night. I really love what you are doing mate and
I really love all the other girls here that are my age and own snorkel
parkas and parkas and Bench Coats. I mean can I have Bristol Mums
Email Address? I really want to talk to her and I really want to
be able to join the hooded ones. They are the sort of women/girls
I want to become friends with and want to be able to chat to and
talk about our loves and obsessions with parkas/fur hoods/modern
fur hooded coats. You know I want to be able to get to know all
the Uni girls. And maybe be able to meet up with them and for us
all to go out together zipped up fully and tightly in our parkas.
They make me feel all safe and secure and snug when I am zipped
up fully and tightly I just love it so much having my fur hoods
up fully - they smell like my perfume. And some times other girl's
perfume when I have leant them to my two other flat mates Abigail
and Holly and my other girlfriend Lindsay who I love so much who
has a lovely white bomber jacket parka. I love to borrow and wear
it sometimes. It has a HUGE fur hood on it - white with silvery
fur trim on the outside and dark grey fur on the inside - it really
zips up fully so the wearer can't be recognised.

Hi there,
I really love your web-site! It is really great I love reading
all the letters and the information on it.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a young single mum in
her early 20's and there is nothing more that I enjoy than zipping
myself up fully so no one can recognise me. I've got two lovely
fur hooded winter jackets/coats at the moment. One is a lush white
N2B Bomber jacket style parka with grey fur all around the hood
and the other is a full length Bench coat in navy blue like other
visitors to the site have. And whenever I take my daughter to primary
school I always make sure the both of us are wrapped up fully.
Firstly I put my total enclosure Bench hooded zip up top on, then
zip it up fully so only my eyes show. Then I put my Bench coat on
and zip it up fully, put the hood up and zip up to the top. Then
I pull the face flap tight across my face and I pull the drawstrings
nice and tight.
Then I put the little one in her lovely metallic green long fur
hooded winter coat. I zip it up and wrap a scarf tight around her
head and face so only her eye's show. Then I put her fur hood up
fully and pull the Velcro flaps tight across the face then we go
out together. She really loves to be zipped up fully like her mum.
When I have picked her up in the afternoon she has come out with
her hood up but not done up and she has her scarf with her she wants
me to make her super warm and cosy like her mum. Of course when
I am wearing my white bomber jacket style parka I wear my high necked
zip up top zipped up to my eyes and under that I wear a Balaclava
to keep myself warm. I might get my daughter one when she is a couple
of years older. I'm sure she will really love it.
I'm surprised how many other mums I meet when I wait for my little
girl to come out who are wearing their fur hoods up fully and of
course we all know each other and we all chat to each other with
our fur hoods up fully.
This all really comes from when I was little and my mum would always
wrap me up really warm and zip me up in my navy blue snorkel parka
so no one could recognise me or tell who I was or see my face. I've
got to know the other mums so well at my daughters school. We all
meet up weekly for a coffee morning and we all have our fur hoods
up but not zipped up fully so we can drink our teas and coffees
but when we have finished our drinks all our fur hoods go right
back up fully. We've called our group the hooded mums and we all
zip our kids up fully and tightly in their fur hoods.
I don't know if it is fate but all of us all have daughters I think
mums with sons don't bother giving them fur hoods. All the little
boys I see drag their fur hoods along the ground and don't even
wear them.
We've also each of us got a lovely white Neoprene ski mask we sometimes
wear under our fur hoods, which we all really love, but our kids
still wear scarves under their fur hoods. We all think they wouldn't
really like ski masks or anything else until they are at least 10
or 11.
Any way keep up all the good or should I say hood work and I look
forward to reading more entries.
Lots of love

Hey Lorraine,
I love the covering up page. I´ve been into hoods since
my childhood, and love to see others who are interested in this
theme. Being hooded is a very special feeling, and I enjoy sleeping
hooded every night (and my wife does too).
Many greetings to all the hooded ones. I think we are more than
we all realize.
Stay warm and hooded,

A friend asks
where to buy top-class snorkel-hooded parkas on-line - any recommendations?
PLEASE TELL LORRAINE
Kate replies
Myself I would rather visit stores in big cities and see what I
can find. Many have really good value snorkel parkas Trying on the
parkas is half the fun!
TK Maxx have long heavy Korean war style parkas and calflength coats
with big face flaps. Also about are some really useful neck warmers
by Gelert that have a drawcord to keep the neck warmer up over your
nose and ears. Great to wear under most parka and hoodies hoods.
But if you must buy on-line: try E-bay or any number of on line
shops. If you are looking for a particular make put it in Google
and see what comes up.Try the Parka
Pages Gallery.

Women Ourselves ...
have booked a stall for Freshers Week in the Student Union Hall
and are looking forward to even more members than last year.
We believe the way to success is hard work, twelve hour days,
no booze, no sex and total covering up so no part of the body is
visible. This means wearing a snorkel parka Bench Long Coat or other
hood and face covering so no more than the eyes are showing. We
usually have gloves, boots and baggy trousers or heavy ankle length
skirt.
The hood and coat are worn all day every day indoors and out. Many
of us wear a hoody, hood up, buff face mask and snorkel parka with
snorkel hood up from 7am to 11pm.
One of our members got a First and will be round for a few more
years and others all had 2.1s.
This sounds astere but has turned out to be good fun as we socialise
together. Indeed several couples have formed very deep and stable
relationships through covering up.
We are not all gay by any means. We have members who cover up
for religious reasons. Some women prefer to wear long hooded coats
rather than traditional dress as they don't stand out amongst europeans.
Several fundalmentalist christian women have joined us and see covering
up as part of religious commitment. We had some Afro-Americans join
who said the GAP hoody and a Buff covering the face were traditional
Black Urban dress. We are pleased to welcome them. Others just want
to get on with their work and not be pestered by men.
We think women who spend their time in uni getting drunk, tattooed
and shagged by every man in Hall are fools, but - that is their
choice.
We do not have male members, but certainly do not object to males
going covered up as long as they dont frighten people. For example
don't follow women down dark streets.
Like you Lorraine we do not like to arrange meetings with people
over the internet its not safe.
There are far more people about wearing hoods and covering up
than ever. IF YOU WANT TO DO JUST DO IT. Far from being stared at
we find we are usually totally ignored. But I have been greeted
in the street by other covered-up women, who are now friends.
AM
PS We are pleased to see how your site has developed Lorraine and
thank you for your hard work.
A real pleasure, thank you. I'm really out
of my depth. Very relieved it's OK - LE

How to keep cool this Winter
LE's fashion editor keeps the Winter
scene covered
NOW is the time to be on the look out in TK
MAXX H & M and other shops as winter fashions arrive.
What's coming?
Longer heavier coats with even deeper hoods?
Snorkel parkas that reach your knees and have twelve inch snorkels?
What of the trench coat? This is in it is said
in its ankle length double breasted form with six inch stand up
strapable collar. Colours: dark green and black worn with
ski mask, leather motor cycling face mask and big broad brimmed
waxed cloth hat.
What of the hoody? Big baggy black hoodies that
reach your thighs and do up only leaving a small eye space. Buff
face and neck covers to hide the mouth and nose.
Bench are still doing total head enclosure hoodies that
let you breath and see out but not be seen, ideal under
other hoodies and coats.
- Put your hood up and keep it up!
- Cover the lower half of your face all the time.
- Wear gloves and boots.
- Snorkel to Blunkett and all his spy cameras and I D nonsense.
- Be yourself. You know who you are.

I spotted a dufflecoat advertised on e- bay. Asian Government
surplus heavy hooded woollen women's duffle coat. I bought it cheaply
and it shortly arrived.
The first box that came contained a heavy black woollen duffle coat
that reached my ankles and had a tightish fitting large hood, full
length zip and leather belts around it at waist and hem.
It was very warm and comfortable.
The hood had no less than three flaps over the
face opening that fastened by straps. A lower one that covered the
chin. A second that covered the mouth and nose. And an odd third
that totally covered the eyes and forhead.
I wore the coat out with the hood up it was very good.
Next day another parcel arrived. This caused me some puzzlement as
it contained three woollen sack-like bags. The instructions showed
however they could be buttoned on to the dufflecoat.
The first bag attached to the bottom hem of the
coat and was fastened by a belt. It turned the coat into a sort
of sleeping bag, but actually secured the wearer's feet together!
...
The sensation is marvelous.

I like to wear a knee length hooded coat from H & M. It it
is dark green proofed cotton with a thick lining and a deep hood.
A long zip with velcro cover runs from my chin to my knees. It's
warm and sexy.
I wear a knitted neck warmer, a tube like scarf round my neck that
covers my nose and mouth up to my eyes. With this on and the deep
cowl of the hood I am invisible!
Clare |
I usually wear a big black GAP hoody with
the hood up over that and a below-knee-length hooded parka. I have
nice one from a sale at H & M that has a deep concealing hood.
Wellingtons are in fashion so now I have
joined the green welly brigade and wear steel-toe-capped farmers'
boots and black leather gloves. The Wellingtons have been paid for
by students that bet me I couldnt wear a hood up all year!
