Modest Dress

In the letters section of Lorraine's Club some religious families discuss how they dress to comply with their ideas of women's modesty. Another item notes that such dress is required by employers even in the brash City of London. Women dress in western rather than traditional clothes to cover up.

Fashion has helped in recent years as long hooded coats and parkas have been in fashion and the hoody is to be seen everywhere, the traditional long flowing burka being seen as too clumsy to be worn in the office or factory. It is also felt desirable for members of minority groups not to stand out so much from the general population and to wear western clothes.

The Most Modest Coat

Nylon or Gortex (that breathes).

This ankle length coat has a deep concealing snorkel-style hood - a generous cut that totally hides the body shape and attached gloves. It has full length zip covered by a flap at the front and draw cords or clinchers at the waist, hem and inner and outer draw cords on the snorkel hood. The snorkel hood is a special design that can conceal the eyes of the wearer down a narrow six inch tube. Comes with fur trim or not as preferred.

The coat comes in several weights of material for summer or winter or in breathable gortex that makes the coat comfortable to wear for extended periods. Colours Black Brown or Dark Green. Sizes from youngest to the larger woman. Most available in store now.

Fashionable thigh length and waist length snorkel parkas shorter versions of the MMC above with all its additional features available.

Modest Hoodie

Very popular for families with teenage girls.

A generously sized pull over the head hoody which has a balaclava style hood with a very modest eye opening so that the hood can not be put down. Can be supplied with between the leg fastening, lockable, and sleeves that end in gloves. Colours Black Brown Dark Green.

Most Modest Hoodie

As above with all the additional features and fine black material over eye opening giving total concealment.

Most Modest Poncho

A generously cut nylon or gortex poncho with a generously cut hood designed to fit over the Most Modest Coat. Ankle length with balaclava style hood. Drawcords round face and neck of hood and at waist and hem.

Modest Double Glove

A strong nylon double glove that can be used to strap the wrists of the wearer together, lockable. Can be concealed under the Most Modest Poncho.

Modest Voice Control
