This latter is very comfortable to wear, with plenty of air inside the hood with face mask on. The face mask is concealed in the top of the hood when not in use. It drops down and is fastened across the hood opening with press studs.

I have wom this for long periods comfortably. People are getting used to seeing men and women totally concealed in these hoods now they have been out for some time. Wearing them both in Manchester and the East End of London produces little reaction from passers by.

Claire came to see me the other day, concealed as ever in her Swedish Parka. She says she now wears it with the hood up and only the smallest slit to see out of during her lectures and group meetings in university. She is accepted as being a bit odd or a variation on religious arab women who also are fully veiled. She still enjoys working part time Swedish parkaed and balaclaved. Says she feels roused most of the time!

Bad news. ZDM who supplied "Most Modest" parkas and hoodies in Yorkshire have gone out of business. The owner has gone abroad where he hopes to find it less taxing. A pity, I have been telling a few people to look for Swedish Parkas M 90 type in army surplus stores. Luckily there seem to be a lot of them to be had at the moment.

Next time you see what you might think of as an absurd chav girl think again. Wearing black jeans, black gloves, black hoody with the hood up over a deep peaked base ball cap and a black face mask covering her mouth and nose? Not a chav at all but the daughter of a respectable religious family who have "Westemised" their dress but still keep to their religious demands of concealment. Also to be seen wearing black snorkel nb3 parkas with the hood fully snorkelled up. To be seen on the tube, DLR and buses in Tower Hamlets and other parts of the East End.

Don't be afraid to wear your hood up and keep it up. Keep the sun off, skin cancer is a killer. Big Brother is watching you in England which is becoming a Police State. The only frightening thing about wearing a hoody is being hugged by David Cameron.

Thanks for keeping us uptodate with Claire and the in people. Nice to hear of someone who is definitely happy at least most of the time.

About chavs: the only thing I thought I knew about the chav, boy or girl, is that they wear the Burberry check. So I don't think I would ever have fallen into the trap you warn us against - of thinking a person who has gone to the black might be a chav. Maybe the Burberry thing has gone since I last checked?
