The pictures are from the movie "La Martingale", a word that refers to the calculated stake when people gamble. Gambling addict Gordana Müller (Catherine Spaak) experiences a drastic change in her life when she puts up with Alex Brodsky (Omar Sharif), who is extremely lucky in the casinos. Not the right cure for her little vice, one would say. And is it really just luck that directs these streams of money into Alex's large pockets, or is something else going on? When a jealous ex-lover joins forces with a suspicious policeman, moving space narrows dramatically for the two players ... Get Smart Again,
Gary Nelson US TV Movie First aired 1989. |
This was the second attempt to revisit the popular 1960's series (see above). Inexplicably,
it was given a cinema release! "Get Smart Again" was a lot closer to the spirit of the series. It's supremely silly, totally unsophisticated, yet great fun. It reunited most of the original cast and especially welcome was Barbara Feldon as 'Agent 99', now married to Max. Barbara demonstrated that, even 20 years on, she could still look great in a raincoat. ( The DVD sleeve says in error that it was directed by Burton Nodella.) (Domino) (Domino) |
